Ancient knowledge.
A shared endeavour.
Help us decipher the Vedas, one syllable, one root and one carefully examined meaning at a time.
We are building a structured, downloadable research corpus and a visual universe of Vedic knowledge. Our current programme focuses on 20,000 Samhita mantras across the Vedas. This is our planning target; the source inventory grows as editions are selected and indexed.
This takes sustained human effort: studying Sanskrit, checking sources, questioning interpretations and reviewing results. AI helps us investigate at scale, with real token and computation costs behind each batch.
These are directions of inquiry. Each reading must show its derivation, evidence and limits; a proposed connection is not proof of a modern scientific theory.

Our $2,500 working funding target supports the planned 20,000-mantra Samhita research programme: compute, careful source study, review and publication. We will refine this estimate as the work develops.
What your support makes possible
- GPU time: rent compute to run and test research models, compare results and develop larger-scale analysis.
- AI tokens: fund separate sound, word, mantra and comparison calls, including corrections and reruns.
- Human research: study Sanskrit etymology and original sources, check Yaska and Sayana, challenge hypotheses and review uncertain readings.
- An open research atlas: prepare downloadable records, preserve revisions and create clear visual ways to explore the evidence.
Each mantra requires several linked investigations. Your contribution helps us take the time to examine difficult questions and publish the reasoning behind each reading.

Our aim is original, source-grounded inquiry rather than recycled web summaries or vague English paraphrases. We begin with the Sanskrit text and its etymology, and study Yaska's Nirukta and Sayana's commentary closely. Western or English-language interpretations are not our foundation or a final authority; every reading must be tested against the text.
- 01
Examine the language
Study syllables, dhatus, word formation, accent, metre and the grammatical relationships within each mantra.
- 02
Construct the reading
Save the sound and word research first. In a separate call, use those findings to construct pada and mantra meanings, preserving grammar and uncertainty.
- 03
Investigate different planes
Explore physical, scientific, astronomical, psychological and theological meanings while preserving who acts, what happens and what the language supports.
- 04
Compare and publish the evidence
Prepare an independent Yaska reading, or Sayana fallback, then compare it with the saved research. Publish derivations, sources and earlier revisions for others to inspect and build on.
The staged research investigates cosmology, physics, astronomy, astrology, geography, psychology and theology. Unsupported readings remain explicit gaps. Model-generated analyses remain labelled and await scholarly review.
